Kathleen Adams, CFP® CPWA® is a Senior Associate with SEIA. She has been a financial advisor for over 15 years. Her focus has always been on the integration of financial planning with wealth management, especially in conjunction with exit planning and family wealth transfer. She utilizes her proprietary process, “The Owner’s Plan®”, to develop strategic personal financial plans, develop appropriate advisory teams and prepare families for the future challenges of inheriting wealth.
She participates in educational forums through her memberships in the Investment Management Consultant Association, the Los Angeles Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, The Purposeful Planning Institute and the South Bay Estate Planning Council. She completed the Ed Slott 2013 IRA Program for extended education regarding IRA distribution planning. Kathleen has lived in Manhattan Beach with her husband for over 25 years. She has two daughters and a grandson.
Kathleen received her Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University in Chicago, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and completed the Personal Financial Planning (PFP) designation program at UCLA Extension in 2003. In 2015 Kathleen earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designation, delivered by Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) after successfully completing coursework in advanced wealth management strategies and applied concepts at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. CPWA® is the only advanced designation designed for financial advisors and consultants who work with high-net-worth clients on the life cycle of wealth. Recently, Kathleen earned IMCA’s Association’s Applied Behavioral Finance Certificate enhancing her industry knowledge. Designed to address common behavioral challenges that trip up investors and advisors alike, the program includes timely and relevant presentations by behavioral finance experts, financial advisor practitioners, and cutting-edge academics. She is also a licensed insurance agent (CA Ins. License #0C76833).
